This article is a journal that both describes leading research being done in the field but at the same time does its best to help document and show how some of the trials and experiments done by these experts do not all lead to the singularity that they are implying in their research.

This Time Magazine article describes not only the ultimatum that is the singularity but also describes Ray Kurtzweil’s impact on it and how his work has helped shape sceince in general and the efforts to find out how life will be when artificial intelligence becomes more powerful and smarter than human intellect.

Michio Kayo is someone who has studied the singularity and helps explain it to the mass public through this video, he believes in a more optimistic approach as artificial intelligence has built up over the past years. He actually explains how we can turn the fear coming from the intelligence community to new ideas, concepts and inventions.

This article breaks down the whole idea of the singularity in extreme scientific detail and creates many relations with other phenomenon. This Law of Accelerating Returns is a Law that is proposed by Kurzweil, and is a very confusing and complicated statement that entails many things I did not understand.

The video itself explains what Ray Kurzweil think about the technological singularity. Kurzweil is a futurist and has studied this phenomenon for many years. The fact is, is that computers are getting smarter and smarter by the minute and by doing this we can actually more fully understand ourselves better and how we work, in consequence this technology is out there that will eventually be able to run completely by itself.

This opinionated article is one that basically shows the other side of the whole singularity issue and shows the major holes in its believability. Even though there is a lot of proof pointing towards it, this article shows the praciticality of the whole argument against it and shows that things will just change and adjust itself back to normal.

This site explains in most simplistic terms on what the singularity is, how it came to be, and how it relates to the future of technology and the world as we know it. This site is actually more singled around the idea that the singularity is not just a belief but an actual fact the institute is trying to find out what the event would instill for humans and trying to study the trends in technology today to better find out more about the idea.

The original version of this article was presented at the VISION-21 Symposium sponsored by NASA Lewis Research Center and the Ohio Aerospace Institute, March 30-31, 1993. A slightly changed version appeared in the Winter 1993 issue of Whole Earth Review. Vernor explores the proposition that there is going to be superhuman life that will be present on Earth by means of creation of new technology and advances in it. He explores the growing possibility of a new race waking up and becoming alive.

The report explores the more cynical view that is looked upon the technological singularity and explores the extreme possibilities of what will cause it and what it will be like. But it also explains that most journalist, and most people in general reject the idea, and think it is as bogus as UFOs from Mars. Even though many people believe that it could happen eventually, the idea is so not supported it can be considered a laugh.
